Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Haji Ghulam Ali Saturday said that the government is spending a huge portion of all its resources and national development funds on the development of the education and health sectors.
Thanks to those who chose you for the service and treatment of the sick and suffering humanity of the society, young doctors should prefer the treatment of the poor people in the backward areas instead of the famous hospitals.
He expressed these views while addressing the annual convocation of Khyber Medical College Peshawar as the chief guest on Saturday. Adviser to Chief Minister on Health Dr. Riaz Anwar, Vice Chancellor Khyber Medical University Prof Dr Ziaul Haque, President American College of Physicians Prof Dr Umar Taimur Atiq, Dean Khyber Medical College Prof Dr Mahmood Aurangzeb, Director Khyber Teaching Hospital Zafar Afridi, Director General Sports and international athlete Bahre Karam and parents, faculty members and students participated in large numbers.
In the convocation, the Governor distributed degrees to 206 medical students who completed their medical education in the session 2020-21 and also awarded gold medals to 54 students of the session 2020 and session 2021 who obtained outstanding positions.
At the ceremony, Dean Khyber Medical College Professor Dr. Mahmood Aurangzeb welcomed the governor and other guests and shed light on the overall performance of the college. He also presented the annual performance report of the institution to the governor.
Adviser to the Chief Minister on Health Dr. Riaz Anwar, Vice Chancellor Khyber Medical University Prof. Dr. Ziaul Haq also addressed the ceremony and said that you students have served the suffering humanity in the practical field.
Addressing the ceremony, the governor congratulated the students, parents, faculty members who achieved academic success and said that today you are entering your practical life and it is your duty to fulfill your duty in the best way and make service to humanity your motto.
He said that the focus of my 40-year political life has been to serve the people only, to perform duties with sincerity and honesty and to serve the suffering humanity is the way to success. Those who come to the hospital for treatment. Patients have a lot of expectations from doctors, doctors can win the hearts of patients by creating relaxation in their attitudes with treatment.
The governor said that patience and tolerance in the society today has completely ended. Every field of life, especially the medical field, he said. The associated persons should maintain patience and decency in their professional duties.
Addressing the students, he said that you youth should end the negative propaganda against the state and state institutions. “You are the future of the country and the youth have made the state and to ensure the dignity and security of state institutions and to bring Pakistan to the destination of development,” he added.
After the convocation, the governor formally inaugurated the All Pakistan Inter-University Athletics Championship 2023 at Peshawar University. Athletes from 43 universities across the country are participating in Athletics competitions.
On this occasion, the governor also gave gold medals to the athletes of the University of Punjab who came first, and silver and bronze medals to the second and third place. Addressing the ceremony, the governor said that the organization of sports in universities along with education is very important for student’s health.
Sports activities are very important for a healthy society, thanks to which not only the talents of these students will emerge, but also the relations between the students of the universities across the country will increase in a pleasant environment.
He said that along with education, sports are also an essential part of human life, which play an important role in the development of any society and youth. He said while addressing the athletes, if they focus on all fields of sports with hard work and dedication, then not only their country but also the country will progress. Names will also be able to shine.
He thanked Peshawar University Vice Chancellor Dr. Mohammad Idrees, Sports Director Bahre Karam, Chairman HEC Prof. Dr. Mukhtiar Ahmed and paid tribute to them that this event was organized after 8 years.
The governor mingled with the athletes on the occasion, the athletes took pictures with the governor and expressed happiness. The athletes paid tribute to the governor that the love, affection and sincerity with which he met and encouraged the public was unparalleled.
