Grand job fair and open house 2026 held at AWKUM

A grand “Job Fair Open House 2026” was organized at Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, where 45 renowned national and international companies from across the country participated enthusiastically. Students showcased 223 different projects through exhibition stalls.
The main organizers of the job fair were Dr. Ehtesham, Director IBL, and Dr. Bilal, Director CDC. During the event, various organizations conducted interviews with students, and job letters were also distributed among eligible candidates, providing young graduates with direct employment opportunities.
The chief guest of the ceremony was Zahir Shah Toru. Representatives from different universities and colleges across the province, faculty members, and industry leaders also attended the event.
Among the notable participants were Owais Khan, President of the Mardan Chamber of Commerce, Ubaid-ul-Haq, CEO of Touch Avenue, the Principal of Nisar Shaheed College Risalpur, the Principal of Fazal Haq College Mardan, and other senior officials.
In his address, Zahir Shah Toru announced a research grant of Rs. 10 million from his personal funds for Abdul Wali Khan University.
He emphasized the importance of innovation, creative thinking, and particularly Artificial Intelligence (AI), stating that only those young people equipped with modern technology would be able to compete in the future. He also urged industries to provide maximum opportunities for young graduates to excel in practical fields.
Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Jameel Ahmad said that Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan continues to progress in educational excellence, research, and professional training for students.
He highlighted that the university ranks first in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and is among the top ten universities nationwide in the Times Higher Education rankings.
The Vice Chancellor further revealed that modern research centers for fisheries, honey bee farming projects, animal vaccine production, and advanced healthcare-related products are currently under development at the university and will soon be introduced to the market. He also stated that work is underway on establishing a Business Incubation Center, Business Park, and Skill Development Center to provide students with entrepreneurial and technical skills.
At the conclusion of the event, commemorative shields were distributed among the Vice Chancellor and company owners participating in the job fair.
