Hamdard University organized social protection camp in Chachro

The Faculty of Eastern Medicine, Hamdard University, in collaboration with Hamdard Foundation (Waqf) Pakistan, UNICEF, the Government of Sindh, and the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), organized a two-day social protection camp in Chachro during its three-day study tour in Tharparkar district.
UNICEF Social Policy Officer Sameer Khan, Hamdard University faculty members Tabeeba Huma Saeed, nutrition expert Hajra Ilyas, Syed Kazim Abbas, Tabeeba Rukhsar Javed, Hakeem Parvez Ahmed, students, house officers, and nutritionists participated in the camp.
The camp aimed to address common health issues in rural communities, offering preventive and treatment services through Eastern medicine, maternal and child nutrition guidance, eye care check-ups, general health services, and digital financial literacy awareness for women and children under BISP.

Participants were also briefed on the Sindh government’s “Mamata” mother and child health program.
The Hamdard Foundation also deployed three mobile dispensaries to provide free medical treatment and Eastern medicines.
The camp concluded with the distribution of ration bags, blankets, and warm clothing to help residents cope with the harsh winter conditions.
