Hayatabad Police on Thursday foiled an attempt to smuggle drugs from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to Punjab and arrested two persons.
The arrested persons, one from district Khyber and other from Punjab, have been identified as Kamran and Saleem.
According to SHO Hayatabad Police Station Timur Saleem Khan that police have recovered more than a kg heroin, hashish and half a kilogram of ice from their possession.
He said that action was taken on a tip-off from reliable sources that two persons were smuggling drugs in a passenger van.
Police took action and arrested two persons and seized drugs from them.
The arrested suspects belong to an organized drug network, residents of Khyber district and Punjab, who have revealed drug supply through passenger vehicles, he added.
Cases have been registered against the accused and further investigation has been started.
