ABBOTTABAD: All eight districts of Hazara region on Monday marked Pakistan Day on March 23 with the launch of the “Ehsas-e-Shajarkari” campaign alongside flag hoisting ceremonies, aiming to promote environmental sustainability and national unity. In line with the directives of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Muhammad Sohail Khan Afridi, a historic tree plantation campaign was initiated with a target to plant one million saplings across the province in a single day. The initiative coincided with Pakistan Day and Eid celebrations, reflecting the government’s commitment to a greener and more sustainable future. In Abbottabad, Deputy Commissioner Sarmad Saleem Akram formally inaugurated the campaign by planting fruit-bearing saplings at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in collaboration with the Forest Department.
