Hearing of govt intra court appeal against Sheikh Rashid travel for umrah adjourned

RAWALPINDI: A division bench of Lahore High Court (LHC) Rawalpindi bench comprising justice Tariq Mehmood Bajwa and Justice Jawad Hassan has adjourned till March 5 hearing of intra court appeal of federal government against travelling of head of Awami Muslim League Sheikh Rashid for umrah . Sheik Rashid appeared in the court along with his counsel Sardar Abdul Razzaq Khan. The counsel for the petitioner took the plea the intra court appeal of federal government does not bear signature of any responsible officer while single bench comprising Justice Sadaqat Ali Khan has allowed the petitioner to perform umrah. The appeal plea of federal government cannot be filed against the decision of single bench. The counsel for the petitioner was of stance that he has been going to perform umrah since 40 years. But federal government is creating hindrances in performance of umrah by Sheikh Rashid. The court after preliminary hearing sought reply from interior secretary and adjourned the hearing of the case till March 5. Online
