CHITRAL: The Upper and Lower districts of Chitral have been ravaged by severe flash flooding caused by heavy rains. The flash floods in the two districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province have destroyed dozens of bridges and connecting roads, leaving the districts reeling. The floods have also damaged standing crops in the Shishikoh Valley, affecting areas such as Yarkhun, Burns, Mori, and Lower and Upper Chitral. Fertile agricultural lands along the river have been swept away, exacerbating the crisis. The districts of Chitral are prone to natural disasters due to climate change, and the recent rains have highlighted the vulnerability of the region. According to local media reports, Upper Chitral has been cut off from Lower Chitral and the rest of the province, with areas like Mori, Burns, and Yarkhun being the most affected. The Darosh-Madak-Lisht Road in Tehsil Darosh has been flooded at multiple points, and agricultural land along the river in Medak Lisht has also been washed away. DLP Report
