CM Gandapur, Governor KP, minister express grief over loss of lives in rains, land-sliding
PESHAWAR
At least 13 people died after rains water has entered in the basement of a house at Dara Adamkhel in Kohat district on Tuesday night.
Police and Rescue 1122 spokesman said that the tragic incident occured at the house of Amjad Khan at Barikhel village, trapping 11 people including three women and six children.
All of them died in the heavy rains water. The bodies were retrieved and laid to rest at their ancestral graveyard.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi and Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur have expressed deep condolences with members of the bereaved families.
They prayed for eternal peace of all the victims and grant courage to the bereaved families to bear this loss with patience.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Tuesday expressed grief and sorrow over the loss of lives and property during the rainstorms in different districts of the province. In a message, Ali Amin Gandapur said he felt immense grief over the loss of lives and property in the rainstorms in KP. He condoled with the bereaved families and sympathized with the affectees. He prayed for the elevation of ranks of the deceased in paradise and for the early recovery of the injured. He said he hoped that the authorities concerned would deliver timely assistance in the affected areas.
Separately, provincial minister for higher education Meena Khan Afridi has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the tragic deaths of ten persons in a house in Dera Adam Khel, caused by flood water entering their basement. Afridi in a message issued here expressed heartfelt and sympathy to the bereaved families, offering prayers for the elevation of the deceased’s ranks and patience for the relatives. He urged that proactive and effective safety measures could help mitigate potential losses caused by the monsoon rains, thus preventing both human and material damage.
