IBP services resumed in MTI KTH from 12th October 2020

With Covid-19 cases showing a marked decline in the province, the Board of Governors Khyber Medical Hospital on Thursday ordered the resumption of normal institute Practice, with extensive precautions in place.
According to BODs directives to re-function the Institution Base Practice (IBP) services in the best public interest. The management of the hospital has taken all the steps on an emergent basis to start the services as per BoG directives. The IBP is started with strict SoPs and the patients and their attendants are advised to use face mask during entering the hospital. One patient one attended policy is strictly implemented to minimize the risk of COVID19 pandemic.
According to the detail renowned laparoscopic surgeon & pioneer of laparoscopic surgery Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Professor Doctor Mahmud Aurangzeb Dean KMC is also practicing and doing surgeries in IBP. Professors, Associate Professors and Assistant Professors including all specialties practicing and doing surgeries in the IBP. The IBP timing is from 03:00 PM to 08:00 PM.
The purpose of starting IBP is to provide quality and specialized treatment to the general public under one roof. The main objective of IBP is to strengthen the institution financially.
The majority of the deaths during surgeries in private clinics are because of the non-qualified anesthetist. A well qualified and trained senior anesthesia faculty are available in the IBP Operation Theatre. Similarly, the private clinics don’t have the facilities of ICU, CCU, and OT whereas MTI KTH has state of the art CCU, ICUs, and OT.
The diagnostic services including Radiology and the pathology reports are generated through a state of the art machines under the supervision of senior professors and qualified staff.
For the facilitation of the patients, special information desks and complaint cell are introduced. Social guide men are assigned to provide information and help to the patients and their attendants. A special porter service is available to facilitate the IBP patients. All these services are available under one roof.
