ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police carried out 145 grand combing and search operations across the federal capital during August, screening 9,317 people and 3,993 households as part of intensified efforts against criminal elements and to strengthen public safety. An official told media on Sunday that the operations were conducted in different areas of Islamabad on the directions of the IGP Islamabad. During the operations, police checked 274 hotels, 1,027 shops, 4,908 motorcycles and 1,720 vehicles. The official said 251 suspicious individuals, 453 motorcycles and five vehicles were shifted to the respective police stations for further verification and scrutiny. Police also arrested four suspects for allegedly possessing drugs and illegal weapons during the operations. The recoveries included ice, a dagger, three pistols and ammunition. DNA
