IG-KP lauds sacrifices of policemen on Police Martyrs Day

IG says the whole nation pays rich tribute to Pakhtunkhwa police every year on August 4

Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Moazzam Jah Ansari paid a rich tribute to policemen that laid down their lives in the line of duty and termed them as the real heroes of the whole nation.
He expressed these views while addressing the 8th Annual Police Martyrs’ Day ceremony held at a local hotel in Peshawar here on Thursday.
The police chief said KP police were the bravest force of the world as they fought fearlessly and encountered suicide-bombers.
Despite lacking modern technology and other necessary equipment required for a force, Pakhtunkhwa policemen performed their duty with great zeal and maintained law and order situation.
The sacrifices made by the police in the province added a golden chapter to the history of the province, he added.
He said that more than 2,000 police sacrificed their lives in the war against terrorism.
The whole nation pays rich tribute to the brave policemen and soldiers of the province and other provinces every year on August 4 and remembers them for their sacrifices and services, he added.
The police of the province have always shown bravery and never let the enemy disrupt the peace of the region, he added.
The IGP said that KP Police has become a role model for the whole and the journey would be continued.
He said that the responsibility of the former tribal districts has also fallen on the shoulders of this brave police, the soldiers and officers who have been integrated into the police of the former Levies and Khasadars will now play their role with more courage than before.
Moazzam Jah Ansari urged the police force of the province to dedicate their services for the protection of masses and never let their hopes down.
The IGP said that we pledge to defeat the ambitions of all the enemies by force at any cost.
He said that the welfare of the heirs of the police martyrs and solving their problems was the first priority of the provincial government.
“The Police Martyr Package and benefits to be increased,” he added.
He urged the police to perform their duties efficiently without being indifferent to all kinds of economic considerations, problems and difficulties.
Paying tribute to the courage and determination of the heirs of the martyrs present at the ceremony, the IGP said that you are our great elders, brothers, sisters and children whose sacrifices of their loved ones made the whole nation last.
The IGP also saluted the courage and bravery of the police veterans for fighting against the terrorists and described them as a valuable asset of the force.
The IGP thanked everyone present in the hall, especially all representatives of print and electronic media and intellectuals for writing and broadcasting programs about the bravery and achievements of police martyrs.
In the ceremony, biographical sketches of martyred police officers and police veterans and bouquets were presented to their heirs.
At the beginning of the ceremony, the importance and usefulness of Police Martyrs’ Day was highlighted in detail.
In the ceremony, provincial ministers, elected public representatives, retired IGPs, senior civil and military officials and people of different schools of thought participated in large numbers.
