A second ceremony for the distribution of honorary cheques awarded under the Quaid-e-Azam Police Medal and the Presidential Police Medal was held today at the Central Police Office (CPO) Peshawar. Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Zulfiqar Hameed, presented the cheques to police officers, personnel, and the families of martyrs who received the prestigious medals.
The ceremony was attended by Additional IG Operations Muhammad Ali Babakhel, Additional IG Headquarters Abbas Ahsan, Additional IG Inquiry Akhtar Abbas, Additional IG Training Nisar Khan Tanoli, DIG Welfare Muhammad Kashif Mushtaq Kanju, PSO to IGP Rai Mazhar Iqbal, and Director Public Relations KP Police Abdul Salam Khalid, along with other senior officials of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police and family members of martyrs.
Addressing the participants, IGP Zulfiqar Hameed congratulated the medal recipients on receiving the prestigious national civil awards and the accompanying honorary cheques. He stated that the police profession offers unparalleled opportunities to perform noble deeds and serve the nation.
He said that every good action by police personnel brings honor not only to themselves but also to their families and the police department. “This goodwill and reputation are the true assets of the police force,” he added.
The IGP emphasized that recognizing officers and personnel for their excellent performance provides them with professional satisfaction and motivation that cannot be fully expressed in words. He reaffirmed the commitment to utilize all available resources for the welfare of police martyrs’ families and injured personnel.
He further stated that no award can truly compensate for the sacrifices made by police officers, but such recognition reflects the state’s acknowledgement of their bravery and dedication.
