Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Akhtar Hayat Khan said on Friday that modern technology will help control crimes and quickly identify the accused.
He was addressing a function after inaugurating a modern command and control center in Sadar Mardan police station, a new computerized resource management system for distribution and security of police equipment.
IG-KP Akhtar Hayat Khan also inaugurated a 50 motorcycle-riding Ababil Force for urban policing in the Mardan city.
He said that the Command and Control Center is the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police’s project which has also been started in DI Khan, Haripur, Kohat and Nowshera.
Modern cameras of the command and control center have been installed at 34 busiest intersections in Mardan city. Urban policing system is essential in Mardan, the second largest city of the province, he added.
The Ababil force will cover Mardan city as well as TakhtBhai, Shahbaz Garhi and Shergarh Bazar.
Provincial police chief during his visit to the district also inaugurated the SP office of the newly established city division in Mardan.
