Inter-School Sports Festival Concludes in Peshawar

Witnessed the conclusion of the Inter-Schools Sports Festival, where a multitude of school students showcased their sporting prowess across various disciplines. Provincial Secretary of Elementary and Secondary Education, Muhammad Masood Khan, awarded trophies to the victorious students.
The event, held at Government Higher Secondary School No.2 Peshawar, saw a significant turnout of teachers and students, with notable figures including Director of Elementary and Secondary Education, Samina Altaf, Director of Sports, Iftikhar Ahmad Shamozai, and Deputy Director of Education, Sajjad Akhtar Iqbal, sports committee secretary Janas Khan and Depty secretary sports committee Khurshid Iqbal among others.
Government Higher Secondary School No.2 Peshawar emerged victorious in the cricket tournament, while Government Higher Secondary School Dog claimed the volleyball title, and Government Higher Secondary School Chamkani triumphed in football.
Individual accolades were also celebrated, with Muzamil from Government Higher Secondary School Wazir Bagh winning the Naat-Khwani competition, Hasan Junaid of Government Higher Secondary School Zaryab Colony securing victory in the Hasan Qaraat competition, and students from Government Secondary School Jinnah Kaur triumphing in the English speech event.
Addressing the audience at the closing ceremony, Provincial Secretary Muhammad Masood Khan emphasized the importance of regularly organizing inter-school sports competitions, stating that it contributes to the training of the new generation. He asserted that facing challenges and losses in sports is a form of training, paralleling the lessons learned in classrooms. Masood Khan expressed confidence that with quality education and training, the current generation will bring honor not only to themselves but also to Pakistan on the global stage.
Director of Elementary and Secondary Education Samina Altaf echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the significance of incorporating extracurricular activities alongside the standard curriculum. She urged teachers to take responsibility both in the classroom and on the field to nurture well-rounded individuals.
