Islamabad residents to get all facilities under one roof: Mayor

ISLAMABAD(INP): Mayor of Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) and chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA), Sheikh Anser Aziz on Friday inaugurated first Citizen Facilitation Centre in the federal capital to provide different facilities to its residents under one roof.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by the officers of MCI, CDA, elected representatives and general public at large.
Addressing the ceremony, Sheikh Anser Aziz said that provsion of different facilities at one place was a long standing demand of the residents.
Keeping in view the demand of residents, present government directed CDA and MCI to construct Citizen Facilitation Centres in different sectors of the city so that they could be served at their door step.
In this connection, construction of this facilitation centre was started in November 2014 but when elected representatives taken over the responsibility of the affairs of CDA, work on the project was stalled.
He said that after putting all out efforts not only work on the project was restarted but also completed within short period of two (02) months.
He said that the Citizen Facilitation Centre, unique in its nature, constructed over an area of 2500 square yards, will serve the residents in provision of services like IESCO, PTCL, NADRA, facilities provided at One Window Operations Directorate of CDA, licensing and other facilities under one roof. He further said that this facilitation centre will not help save precious time of the residents but would also improve transparency and service delivery in the Authority.
Sheikh Anser Aziz said that survey is being carried out to construct more Citizen Facilitation Centres on similar pattern. He said that reforms have been started implementing in CDA and in this connection, One Window Operations Directorate is being automated and procedures for allotment of plots to the affectees are also being more transparent.
