SHARJAH: Defending champions Islamabad United will cross paths with Karachi Kings in the second playoff of PSL 2017 – reminiscent of last year’s knock-out clash – at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Wednesday. Islamabad United and Karachi Kings faced off in the second playoff last year as well, an encounter which United won by 9 wickets (with 34 balls remaining), eliminating Kings from PSL 2016.
Kings met United twice in this PSL. Kumar Sangakkara’s men won the first encounter by 8 runs (D/L method) on Feb 17 and defeated Misbah’s side by 6 wickets in the second faceoff on Feb 26.
Both the teams have won four matches, lost four matches. Kings, however, edged past United on the points table thanks to their superior Net Run Rate.
