ISLAMABAD: Mr. Isphanyar Bhandara has been appointed as a member of the Advisory Council of the Pathfinder Group’s Interfaith Harmony Initiative (PIHI), a platform dedicated to promoting dialogue, respect, and cooperation among Pakistan’s diverse religious communities. At the inaugural session of the Advisory Council meeting held yesterday, Mr. Bhandara reaffirmed that Pakistan’s Constitution guarantees the rights of minorities. However, he stressed that the real challenge lies in the enforcement of those protections. He observed that most injustices occur not in policy rooms, but in everyday life at the grassroots level, underscoring the importance of public awareness and education in fostering interfaith harmony. On the occasion, Mr. Bhandara presented to Mr. Ikram Sehgal, Co-Chairman of Pathfinder Group, a collection of books he had commissioned, including Gems and Jewels: The Religions of Pakistan and Kalasha: Their Life & Tradition. Appreciating the gesture, Mr. Sehgal remarked that these works would serve as valuable reference material for PIHI, guiding its future programmes and outreach initiatives. DNA
