IWA expressed concern over delay in posting of DG

The Information Welfare Association (IWA) has expressed deep concern over delay in posting against the vacant post of Director General in the Directorate General Information & Public Relations, terming the situation a major hurdle in the smooth functioning of administrative and financial matters and resolution of journalistic affairs as well as employees’ issues. In this regard, the IWA has decided to convene an important General Body meeting on Monday.
The General Body meeting will be held at the office of the Director General Information on Monday at 10:00AM. All the officers and officials of the Directorate General have been asked to ensure their active participation in the meeting.
President of the IWA, Muhammad Sajjad, while chairing cabinet meeting of association said that the prevailing situation is creating unrest and uncertainty within the Directorate. He emphasized the need for all employees to unite and adopt a joint strategy regarding their legitimate demands and the administrative challenges being faced by the Directorate.
He said that the meeting will hold detailed deliberations on early appointment of Director General Information, other related matters and issues faced by employees of Directorate. He also expressed serious reservations over the unnecessary delay and indecisiveness in appointment of Director General Information from amongst the senior and experienced officers of Directorate, stating that such an approach is causing concern among employees.
