Judge Nasir Javed of Accountability Court (AC) Islamabad has extended till September 16 judicial remand of PTI founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi in new reference of retaining expensive Bvlgari jewelry from Toshakhana.
The court has fixed for hearing bail after plea of both accused on September 6.
Both of the accused along with their lawyers barrister Suleman Safdar, Intezar Panjotha and Khalid Yousuf appeared in the court.
NAB Prosecutor general Sardar Muzaffar Abbasi and Umair Majid were also present on the occasion.
The counsels for the accused took the plea the new reference of Toshakhana against PTI founder and Bushra Bibi is like the previous reference. Two references cannot be framed on same charges.
NAB Prosecutor took the plea it can be proved only from documents that new reference resembles previous reference or otherwise. Therefore, the court should summon judicial record of old reference of Toshakhana.
The court after hearing the stance of respondents rejected the NAB plea of calling judicial record of old reference of Toshakhana.
It is alleged in Toshakhana reference that PTI founder Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi had got expensive Bvlgari jewelry from Toshakhana at low price against the rules and later sold them out in market.
