In a successful operation, the Capital City Police Peshawar rescued a three-year-old child who had been kidnapped from the Faqirabad area and arrested three suspects believed to be members of a kidnapping gang.
According to police sources, the main accused, Dilawar, son of Shahid, abducted the child, Muhammad Yousuf, while he was playing outside his home in Afghan Colony. He reportedly placed the child on a motorcycle and fled the scene.
Following the incident, Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Qasim Ali Khan and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations Masood Ahmed took immediate notice and directed the formation of a special investigation team under the supervision of SP Faqirabad Division Muhammad Arshad Khan.
The case was initially reported by the complainant, Rizwan, son of Murad Khan, a resident of Afghan Colony and cousin of the abducted child. The report was lodged at Faqirabad Police Station on May 6, 2025.
Utilizing modern scientific investigation techniques, the police successfully traced and apprehended three suspects: Dilawar, son of Shahid Bhatti, and Shahid Bhatti, son of Muhammad Rafiq—both residents of RA Bazar, Peshawar—as well as Muhammad Atiqur Rehman, son of Abdul Rehman, a resident of Sargodha, Punjab.
The kidnapped child, Muhammad Yousuf, son of Abid, was safely recovered during the operation.
Police also recovered the motorcycle used in the abduction from the possession of the accused. Further investigation is ongoing.
The child’s parents expressed profound gratitude to the Faqirabad Police and the Capital City Police for their swift and effective response in rescuing their son.
