A protest sit-in of Internally Displaced persons (IDPs) of Koki Khel tribesmen was held in front of tehsil compound main gate on Monday suspending it for all kinds of movement.
It is worth mentioning here a protest camp of Koki Khel IDPs, has been set up at Bab-e-Khyber demanding their safe return to their hometown,Rajgal,Tirah Valley.
Dozens of IDPs and locals gathered in front of tehsil main entrance and began a protest sit-in, blocking the way for every kind of entry and exit.
Speaking on the occasion Naseer Ahmad Koki Khel who led the protest and others said that they had been protesting at Bab-e-Khyber for the last twenty days for their rights but authorities concerned turned blind eyes towards them. In the second phase of their agitation, they established a protest sit-in in front gate of tehsil compound to attract the attention of the officials, they added.
For the last twenty years, residents of Rajgal, Tirah Valley who had been compelled to leave their homes and they took refuge in Jamrud and down towns were serving their lives in helplessness and despair, they regretted.
Therefore, they did not want to be disgraced furthermore and seek permission to go to their villages in Rajgal to serve their live with respect and honor.
They also demanded of the government to initiate assessment of their loss and grant them compensation as given to the IDPs of Swat and other areas.
The protestors threatened that if their miseries were not address, in next stage they will suspend the Pak-Afghan highway till fulfilling of their demands.
