KP Apex Committee emphasis on law and Order, support for martyrs’ families

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Apex Committee on Thursday decided to enhance police authority in critical areas, aiming to improve law and order amid rising terrorism incidents.
The committee emphasized the importance of strengthening joint efforts between the civil administration, security forces, and local communities.
As part of this strategy, police capacity will be bolstered with the provision of bulletproof vehicles and the filling of vacant positions.
According to a statement, the provincial Apex Committee met with Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur in the chair.
Adviser on Finance Muzamil Aslam, Corps Commander Peshawar Lt. Gen. Umar Ahmed Bukhari, Chief Secretary Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry, IGP Akhtar Hayat Khan Gandapur, and other high ups attended the meeting.
The meeting focused on reviewing the overall law and order situation, with a particular emphasis on districts facing heightened security challenges.
After thorough discussions, the committee outlined a new action plan aimed at improving safety measures. A prayer (Fatiha) was offered in remembrance of security personnel who had sacrificed their lives for peace.
The committee announced financial support for the families of 178 martyred Pakistan Army and FC personnel from the province, with families of soldiers to receive Rs 1 million and officers’ families Rs 2 million.
Additionally, children of martyrs will be recruited in police and government departments.
The meeting also covered the socio-economic development of the merged districts, with the Chief Minister highlighting that services of the Pakistan Army have been enlisted under Article 245 to aid anti-terrorism efforts alongside the police and civil administration.
Emphasizing unity among the government, army, and people, Gandapur asserted, “Peace is our top priority, and together, we will achieve it.”
He praised the dedication of Pakistan Army personnel, recognizing their sacrifices in the pursuit of lasting peace in the province.
