KP-CM unveils Rs100bn plan for Peshawar’s development

Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Afridi has announced a comprehensive Rs100 billion development strategy for Peshawar aimed at restoring the city’s historic glory, improving urban infrastructure and addressing long standing civic challenges.
An important meeting of parliamentarians from Peshawar district was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Afridi, attended by current and former legislators as well as senior political leaders of the city.
A statement issue here stated that the meeting focused on major administrative and political issues and finalised key decisions for the city’s uplift.
The chief minister announced that a detailed development strategy worth Rs100 billion would be formulated for Peshawar, with a grand meeting scheduled for December 7 to fast-track the city’s mega projects.
He said the initiative was aimed at accelerating ongoing schemes, improving civic amenities and strengthening urban infrastructure.
Afridi stressed that Peshawar, being the provincial capital and the face of KP, deserves urgent and sustained attention. “No delay will be tolerated in the development, beautification and resolution of the city’s basic problems,” he said, adding that the government is fully committed to restoring the city’s former glory.
He reaffirmed that all available resources would be utilized to transform Peshawar into a modern and prosperous urban centre.
