KP contingent leaves for Islamabad to participate in Quaid-e-Azam Games

A 374-member Khyber Pakhtunkhwa contingent has left for the Quaid-e-Azam Inter-Provincial Games organized by the Pakistan Sports Board. The games will be played from December 14 to 19. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s male players will participate in 15 and female players in 11 games.
Provincial Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Syed Fakhar Jahan saw off the contingent and expressed his best wishes for them. A ceremony was held before departure in which Provincial Minister for Sports Syed Fakhar Jahan, Director Establishment Sports Board Azizullah Jan, Deputy Director Sports Operation Jamshed Baloch, Assistant Director Accounts Shah Faisal, coaches and team managers participated.
The provincial minister, while addressing, urged the players to showcase their full potential and bring glory to the province. He announced that the provincial government would give cash prizes to the players who won medals in the games and said that children who won gold medals would be given a monthly scholarship of Rs 25,000. Later, the contingent was sent off with a prayer.
Boys will participate in athletics, badminton, boxing, football, hockey, judo, kabaddi, karate, squash, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, volleyball, weightlifting, wrestling, while girls will participate in athletics, badminton, football, hockey, judo, karate, squash, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo and volleyball. It should be noted that Provincial Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Syed Fakhar Jahan and Director General Sports Abdul Nasir Khan will lead the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa contingent at the opening ceremony of the Quaid-e-Azam Games.
