PESHAWAR
An important meeting held here Friday with federal secretary economic affairs division Dr Kazim Niaz and chief secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry in the chair, reviewed the progress on the projects supported by international development partners.
Additional chief secretary Syed Imtiaz Hussain Shah, representatives of the World Bank (WB) and Asian Development Bank (ADB), administrative secretaries of relevant departments, project directors and other relevant officials attended the meeting, said a statement.
The forum was briefed on 27 ongoing projects of various sectors in KP with the support of international organizations.
The meeting reviewed projects including ten WB projects, 13 ADB and one IFAD are providing funds for the project.
In the meeting, it was emphasized that the ongoing projects should be accelerated and their implementation should be ensured as early as possible.
Federal secretary economic affairs division Dr Kazim Niaz said that the federal government will provide full support to the provincial government in these projects.
He furthered that the timely completion of these projects will benefit the local population.
Chief secretary Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry issued instructions to the administrative secretaries and concerned authorities to submit progress report of all foreign funded projects under their respective departments.
The meeting resolved that all efforts would be made to remove obstacles to smoothly implement all foreign aid projects in the province.
CS-KP said that these projects will also play a key role in reducing the effects of climate change in Pakistan, improving the health and education sectors and infrastructure.
