KP excise dept surpasses revenue target with Rs7.033b recovery

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Excise, Taxation, and Narcotics Control, Khaliq-ur-Rehman, chaired a meeting at the Directorate General Excise, Peshawar, to review the 12-month recovery and performance of the Excise Department for the financial year 2024-25. The meeting was attended by Secretary Excise Department Khalid Ilyas, Director General Abdul Haleem Khan, concerned directors, and district excise and taxation officers. According to an official statement, the department recovered Rs 7.033 billion against the initial target of Rs 5.962 billion, achieving 123.6% of the original target and 104.56% of the revised target. This represents an increase of Rs 2.325 billion (49.41%) in recovery compared to last year. The details were shared during a briefing on the revenue collection, recovery progress, and targets for the 12-month period from July to June. The minister was informed about significant reforms underway within the department aimed at improving administrative and public services. Minister Khaliq-ur-Rehman appreciated the dedicated efforts and achievements of the officers and officials, highlighting a remarkable improvement compared to the previous financial year. DLP Report
