KP govt disburses over Rs530m in interest-free loans scheme

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is providing substantial interest-free loans across the province under the exemplary and flagship initiative “Ehsaas Naujawan Program”, aimed at enabling youth to start businesses and secure dignified employment.
The Bank of Khyber has so far disbursed loans worth Rs220 million. Out of received applications in the Bank,145 loans have been approved for viable and income-generating business ventures, said a handout.
Under the small loans component of the Ehsaas Naujawan Program, Akhuwat Foundation has so far received 4,635 applications. Out of these, 2,050 interest-free loans have been issued, amounting to a total disbursement of Rs314.32 milli
Launched in line with the vision of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s founding chairman, Imran Khan, this key project is being implemented under the leadership of Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur and the supervision of Provincial Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, Syed Fakhar Jihan.
The Directorate of Youth Affairs, KP, is executing this mega interest-free loan scheme to empower the youth economically. The loans are being disbursed through the Bank of Khyber and Akhuwat Foundation.
