KP Govt steps up security for minority places of worship

Secretary Auqaf, Hajj, Religious and Minority Affairs, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Atta-ur-Rehman chaired a performance review meeting on Saturday to assess security situation of minority places of worship across the province. The meeting aimed to establish more effective protection measures, was attended by DIG Security Sajjad Khan, SSP Security Sanaullah Khan, and relevant officials from Auqaf Department. Secretary Atta-ur-Rehman directed department staff to equip these places of worship with modern security facilities, including CCTV cameras, walk-through gates, metal detectors, searchlights, and fire safety equipment.
He also emphasized importance of reinforcing mutual cooperation and effective coordination between police and Auqaf Department. The goal of these enhanced measures was to provide a safe, peaceful environment for minority communities during their worship.
He said that KP government was committed to taking every possible step to protect life, property, and religious freedom of all its citizens, with a special focus on minority communities.
