Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Gymnastic Association will field strong team in the 33rd National Games scheduled to be held in Peshawar in October this year, Secretary General Raja Muhammad told APP here on Wednesday.
He said the trials dates have already been announced by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Olympic Association and each of the 34 affiliated Associations have been directed to hold its trials starting from September 20-28, 2019.
He disclosed that KP Gymnastic Association would hold its trials on September 20-22, 2019 and efforts would be made to field a strong and competitive team purely on merits. He said the trials would be organized in Gymnastic Hall of the Qayyum Sports Complex and invitations in this connection have already been issued to all the office-bears of the districts associations including merged tribal districts.
Raja Muhammad said that soon after completing the trials process, a camp would be setup till the commencement of the 33rd national games scheduled to be held from October 26 to November 1, 2019. He said KP is blessed with good talent and hopefully like in the past the performance of the players would be bar better. “We are in a position to win medals in the 33rd National Games despite presence of top teams in the event,” Raja Muhammad said.
He said looking after the recent performance of the KP male and female players in the National Gymnastic Championship played in Jamshoro, Sindh, the KP Adnan, Zikria, Nouman won silver medals, Ahmed Ullah and Sadam grabbed bronze medals while in the female contests Musawera and Safina won bronze medals. “We have services of qualified coach like Sabz Ali and hopefully the performance of the KP male and female would be more satisfactory,” Raja Muhammad concluded.
