The Health Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa hosted its first-ever e-Kachehri, an online public forum, on the directives of the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the Chief Secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Thousands of concerned citizens engaged on the Health Department’s official Facebook page and shared their complaints and suggestions.
Health Advisor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Dr. Riaz Anwar; Health Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mahmood Aslam Wazir; Director General Health Services, Dr. Shaukat Ali; and Director General of Drugs, Muhammad Abbas Khan participated in the historic e-Kachehri.
They actively addressed and responded to questions raised by the public online.
Among the many inquiries, a prominent concern was regarding the Sehat card program. Dr. Riaz Anwar clarified that the program will not be discontinued but, instead, undergo further enhancements to better serve the populace.
He also proposed extending this interactive platform to the district level to enable direct engagement with citizens and emphasized the implementation of standardized rules for all Medical Teaching Institutions (MTI) hospitals across the province.
Health Secretary Mahmood Aslam Wazir hailed the e-Kachehri as a valuable platform for citizens to voice their concerns and for authorities to promptly address and resolve them. In cases where healthcare facilities fall short and essential services are lacking, strict actions have been directed against District Health Officers.
Mr. Wazir extended his gratitude to the participants for their active online presence, questions, and suggestions, all of which contribute to the ongoing enhancement of healthcare services.
Dr. Shaukat Ali, Director General Health Services of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, shared insights into the ongoing reforms within the healthcare system.
He affirmed the commitment to transparency throughout the Health Department’s operations across the province, ensuring that patients have access to improved healthcare services at their doorstep.
The e-Kachehri marks a pivotal milestone in the Health Department’s efforts to engage directly with the public and strengthen the healthcare system in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
