PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa health department issued a seasonal influenza advisory on Wednesday, urging district hospitals and Medical Teaching Institutes (MTIs) directorates to take immediate measures for the prevention, control, and management of the highly contagious respiratory illness. The advisory provides detailed guidelines to healthcare professionals, outlining standard criteria for identifying influenza cases. It also specifies the requirements for sampling, which will help implement a more targeted approach to outbreak control and optimize the use of public health resources. The advisory emphasizes the importance of disseminating these guidelines across all healthcare providers and hospitals within the jurisdiction.
