PESHAWAR: An important meeting held here on Wednesday with provincial minister for irrigation and communication and construction Engineer Ahmed Jan Khan in the chair, reviewed progress on developmental projects. Secretary irrigation Muhammad Tahir Orkazai and other senior officials of the irrigation and communication and works attended the meeting. The chair was briefed on the development projects of the irrigation department, the performance of the department and the departmental responsibilities. Caretaker minister was apprised about the efforts made regarding the improvement of the irrigation system in KP. Engineer Ahmed Jan Khan urged the officers to intensify their efforts to improve the current irrigation system in the province. They should realize all their assigned responsibilities and duties and they should play their active role for the development of this province by utilizing their technical skills. The minister said that he will make every possible effort to further improve the irrigation system in KP. The resources are being used for irrigation and cultivation of agricultural land, but the department should intensify its efforts to make this system more efficient and beneficial, he said and added that a better environment will be provided to departments concerned to perform their duties without any interference in an efficient manner.
