Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information and Public Relations Shafi Jan on Tuesday expressed profound grief over the deaths of 10 people in a house collapse caused by heavy rains in Kohat’s Lachi tehsil, assuring the affected families of the provincial government’s full support.
In a statement, the minister said the tragic incident occurred in the Malgin area of Tehsil Lachi, where a house collapsed following heavy rainfall, claiming 10 lives, including women.
Expressing condolences to the bereaved families, Mr Jan described the incident as a “heartbreaking tragedy” and said the provincial government stood with the victims’ families in their hour of grief.
He said Rescue 1122 launched a timely operation to recover people trapped under the debris, while the injured were being provided with the best possible medical treatment at hospitals.
The minister prayed for the departed souls, strength and patience for the bereaved families, and the speedy recovery of those injured in the incident.
Mr Jan reaffirmed the provincial government’s commitment to extending all possible assistance to the affected families, saying they would not be left alone during this difficult time.
