PESHAWAR: Following the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD)’s forecast of a new spell of rain in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa this week, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a glacial lake outburst flood and flash flood alert for Kumrat and Dir districts. According to the PMD, intermittent rain and thunderstorms are expected in various parts of the province during this period, while heavy rain is expected at some places. Due to these weather conditions, the risks of Glof and flash floods may increase in glacial areas, especially in Kumrat and Dir. The PDMA has directed all the concerned agencies to ensure preventive measures to prevent any possible loss of life and property, loss of livestock and damage to crops and infrastructure. Three people die as roof of a house caves in Lakki Marwat
PESHAWAR: Three people died when roof of a room of a delipadiated house suddenly caved on Lakki Marwat district on Thursday. Police said the traffic incident occured at Qila Ground due to heavy rain in Lakki Marwat where three people buried under the debris and died. The deceased include Shaukatullah and two women of a same family. Police and rescue officials confirmed the death toll and shifted the bodies to tehsil jeadquarters hospital Naurang.
