Department of Prisons Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Friday divided into five regions, said a notification issued here.
According to the notification, the Region-I includes Peshawar, Charsadda, Khyber and Nowshera, Region-2 will consist of Mardan, Malakand, Mohmand and Swabi, Region-3 included Swat, Buner, Bajaur, Chitral Upper, Chitral Lower, Dir Upper, Dir Lower and Shangla and Region-4 consists of Abbottabad, Bhatagram, Haripur, Kohistan Upper, Kohistan Lower, Mansehra and Torghar while
Region-5 comprising Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, Hangu, Karak, Kohat, Kurram, Lakki Marwat, North Waziristan, Orakzai and South Waziristan.
Each region has been given the status of a Regional Jail Office. However, for the smooth sailing of the prisoners five Deputy Inspector General Jail Offices have also been established.
