Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Irrigation Riaz Khan on Tuesday chaired a meeting to review progress on compensation payments to flood-affected families in Buner district.
The meeting was attended by Director General PDMA Arif Ullah Awan, Deputy Commissioner Buner Kashif Qayyum, Director Relief PDMA and other senior officials.
Participants were briefed on damages caused by floods in August last year, the number of affected families and the status of compensation payments. Officials informed the meeting that a dedicated online portal had been introduced to ensure a transparent and efficient disbursement process.
It was stated that data of affected individuals was being regularly uploaded on the IBN portal, while authorities had been directed to complete cases with missing documents to avoid delays.
The meeting was told that once an individual’s data was complete, related issues would be resolved within 24 hours and payments processed without delay. Officials were directed to finalise all pending data within one week to ensure timely compensation.
The minister directed authorities to ensure transparency and merit in the process and to expedite work, warning that no negligence or delay would be tolerated. He also stressed the need for effective monitoring to provide prompt relief to affected families.
