PESHAWAR: The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has announced plans to organize roadshows in major cities across Pakistan, aiming to attract investment in the province’s energy sector, said an official handout. Mazzmmil Aslam, Advisor to the Chief Minister on Finance, revealed that the roadshows will take place in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, and Peshawar. The initiative received approval from the Finance Advisor of KP, prompting the Secretary of Finance to issue a notification for the formation of a technical committee tasked with coordinating the events. The statement said that the primary goal of these roadshows is to highlight investment opportunities within KP’s energy sector and to provide essential data to prospective investors. According to the notification, the Additional Secretary Finance II will serve as the Chairman of the technical committee, which includes key figures such as the CEOs of the Pakhtunkhwa Energy Development Organization (PEDO), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Oil and Gas Company, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zones, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Transmission and Grid Company, along with senior officials from the Energy Department and representatives from other relevant organizations. The committee’s Terms of Reference (ToRs) include finalizing the dates for the roadshows, structuring the sessions, identifying speakers, and compiling a list of participants, as well as securing the necessary approvals.
