CM aide on sports says Peshawar Marathon Race attracted 3500 participants

Advisor to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sports and Youth Affairs, Syed Fakhar Jahan, announced plans to organize the Tour de Cycle Race Peshawar and a talent hunt program following the successful Peshawar Marathon Race.
He highlighted the significance of the marathon, the first of its kind in the country, featuring a 25 km track and attracting 3,500 participants, including athletes from Sindh, Punjab, and Kp.
Syed Fakhar Jahan emphasized the importance of promoting healthy activities to showcase the province’s positive and peaceful identity.
He congratulated the winning athletes and presented trophies and cash prizes during the closing ceremony at the Hayatabad Sports Complex.
The event was attended by Secretary Sports Matiullah, DG Sports Abdul Nasir, President General of Pakistan Athletics Association Akram Sati, sports department officials, athletes, and federation representatives.
According to the sports department, over 3,500 athletes registered for the provincial-level race, including 300 professional athletes.
It is pertinent to mention here that the provincial sports department, for the first time in KP’s history, organised a marathon race in provincial capital Peshawar.
The race, which covered a distance of 25 kilometres, began in Chamkani and concluded at the Sports Complex in Hayatabad. Over 3,000 athletes from across the country participated in the event.
Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur inaugurated the marathon race and appreciated the sports department for organizing successful race in the provincial capital.
