Advisor to the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on finance Muzzammil Aslam, has issued an important statement regarding the release and expenditure of development funds in KP. He stated that in the previous budget, the provincial government had allocated 144 billion rupees for development funds, but instead of 144 billion, 148 billion rupees were actually released. Thus, the total release of provincial funds stands at 103 percent, while expenditures are at 86 percent.
The Finance Advisor added that in contrast, the federal government had allocated 272 billion rupees for KP, of which only 131 billion rupees were released. Muzzammil Aslam noted that the combined release of federal and foreign funding amounts to approximately 48%.
He emphasized that the blame for the low release of funds by the federal government should not be placed on KP. He said that opponents were afraid of KP’s excellent financial performance.
