The Adviser to the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Information and Relations Barrister Mohammad Ali Saif on Saturday shared that the Kurram dispute was close to a peaceful resolution.
In a statement issued, Saif stated that one party involved in the dispute had requested a two-day period for further consultation.
“This request was accepted by the members of the Grand Jirga after mutual discussions,” he said and assured that local leaders in Parachinar will soon be briefed on the plan of action and the procedure for moving forward.
“The Jirga is set to reconvene after a two-day break, with its members diligently working toward lasting peace.,” he said.
He emphasized that the KP government was making serious efforts to resolve this century-old issue, noting that over 40 sessions have been held in the last ten days.
The provincial government was providing full support to the Grand Jirga, including helicopter services for members traveling to Parachinar for consultations.
Mr Saif expressed hope that good news regarding a permanent resolution would be announced soon, urging the public not to give in to negative propaganda surrounding the peace process.
