Lahore’s air pollution rate hits 271, topping global chart

Lahore has once again ranked number one among the most polluted cities in the world, the overall air pollution rate in the city was recorded at 271. Reviewing the various locations of the Provincial Metropolis, Muratab Road pollution rate was recorded at with 404, Iqbal Town recorded 402, Ravi Road recorded 332, Gulberg-III was recorded at 323, Shadman area was recorded at 322 and DHA Phase-VIII was recorded at 312.
The polluted air started causing irritation in the eyes, experts appealed to citizens to be careful.
Experts state that people should not be exposed to pollution because it causes serious health problems, including respiratory diseases, cardiovascular disease, cancer, and even premature death.
Exposure to both outdoor and household air pollution is linked to a wide range of negative health outcomes, affecting lung development, cognitive function, and life expectancy.
