LAHORE: Petition has been filed in Lahore High Court (LHC) seeking probe into fire incident in private hotel in Lahore. The petition has been filed by Judicial Activism Panel. Punjab government, RESCUE and other departments have been made respondent in the petition. The petitioner has taken the plea a transparent probe be conducted into the fire incident in a private hotel in Lahore; It was requested in the petition a commission comprising judge of LHC be constituted to conduct compelte investigation into the incident besides fixing the responsibility.
It has been further prayed to the court to order for conducting building safety audit of all the buildings in Punjab within 90 days to avert such untoward incident in future.
The petitioner has appealed to the court to take effective steps for the protection of life and property of the citizens.
