LAHORE : Lahore High Court (LHC) has ordered to constitute a medical board in connection with a petition filed by a girl seeking permission for changing sex from female to male.
The court has maintained during the hearing of the case “ tell us how can some one be allowed to change her sex from girl to boy and under what law it can be allowed so.
Single bench of LHC led by Justice Jawad Hassan took up the petition filed by one Saba, a girl from Sialkot for hearing Friday.
Petitioner Saba has prayed the court to allow her to change her sex.
The chief secretary and other concerned authorities sought time from the court to file the reply. The court accepted the plea.
The court sought report from the health department on the matter of operation for change of sex from girl to boy.
The counsel for the petitioner told the court male signs appeared in his client, therefore, the petitioner has introduced her as male.
The counsel for petitioner requested the court to allow his client in connection with change of sex.
The court while adjourning the hearing of the case gave time to chief secretary Punjab and other respondents to file reply.
