PESHAWAR: The administration of Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) has clarified that the recent increase in private room charges applies only to private patients and will not affect those visiting the Outpatient Department (OPD) or emergency services. The spokesperson for LRH Muhammad Asim in an explanatory statement said that OPD patients continued to receive free treatment from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, while emergency patients are treated free of cost 24/7 under the Sehat Card Plus program. He explained that LRH specialist doctors engage in private practice at the hospital after 4:00 PM, where patients voluntarily seek consultations and admissions. The spokesperson added that private room facilities at LRH have been upgraded, and the revised charges reflect those improvements. Despite the increase, he noted, LRH’s private room fees remain significantly lower than those of other private hospitals in the region. DLP Report
