Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Provincial Minister for Agriculture Major (Retd) Sajjad Barkwal issued orders to audit the budget 2023-24 of Agriculture University Peshawar from third party and gave conditional approval of the budget of Agriculture University Peshawar for 2024-25.
He directed that audit report and the reduction in the budget and shortcomings should be removed in six months and present it in review meeting of the Senate. He gave these directives while presided over the Senate meeting of Agriculture University Peshawar regarding the approval of the annual budget of the University. Provincial Minister for Higher education Meena Khan Afridi, representatives of Establishment Department, Finance department, Higher education department and other members of the Senate attend the meeting.
On this occasion, Provincial Minister Major (R) Sajjad Barkwal said that work should be started immediately on the audit report of the university and presented in the legitimate meeting of the Senate.
In the meeting, conditional approval was given of annual budget of the university of 2600 million rupees. In the budget meeting, there was a detailed discussion on the grant-in-aid given to the university by the provincial government and the Higher Education Commission Islamabad, while the sources of income of the university and the salary, pension and others expensive of the staff were also discussed.
He directed to prepare and send a list of all properties of Agriculture University Peshawar.
He said that the provincial government will take steps to solve the financial problems of the universities which are facing financial crisis. In the meeting, various proposals were also considered to overcome the financial difficulties of the university.
