Chairman Board, Prof. Jehanzab Khan Toru said that the menace of paper leaks has been completely eradicated, which is a matter of pride for the Board. “Effective measures have also ensured strict control over cheating during examinations, thereby restoring public trust in the institution”, he added.
He expressed these views while speaking to Meet-the-Press program at Mardan Press Club. He shared his views on the current educational challenges and the future roadmap for improvement. Prof. Jehanzab highlighted the Board’s initiatives to ensure transparency, merit, and efficiency in the examination system. He stressed that reforms are being introduced to facilitate students and improve academic standards. He added that the use of modern technology in board affairs would minimize errors and bring more credibility to the system.
The Chairman also emphasized the importance of collaboration between educational institutions and the media to promote awareness regarding educational policies. Journalists present at the session raised various questions, which Prof. Jehanzab responded to in detail, assuring that all possible measures would be taken to resolve the concerns of students and institutions.
Chairman stressed that no compromise would be made on illegal practices. He said that for years many employees had been waiting for their promotions, but under his administration, 22 staff members were promoted and given their due rights. Highlighting the vital role of media in society, the Chairman remarked that non-professional journalists often damage the reputation of professional ones.
He acknowledged the challenges he faced when he assumed charge of the Board but credited sound planning and reforms for rebuilding people’s confidence in the institution. He emphasized that nations are built not by individuals but by institutions and institutions are built on merit.
The Chairman reiterated that every task in the Board is carried out on merit, and students now receive marks solely based on their hard work.
He added that no examination paper will ever be leaked from the Mardan Board in the future, and the success in preventing paper leaks in the last examinations stands as a significant achievement.
The event concluded with an acknowledgment of the Press Club’s role in highlighting educational issues and bridging the gap between institutions and the public.
