Indian forces personnel have continued their violent crackdown, large-scale search operations, and house raids in Kulgam and Shopian districts of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
According to the Kashmir Media Service, Indian Army, paramilitary, and police personnel jointly conducted raids targeting Hurriyat activists and members of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) at several locations across Kulgam district.
A senior police officer confirmed that searches were carried out at around 200 locations, including the residence of jailed Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Dr. Hameed Fayaz in Nadigam, and Tehreek-e-Hurriyat leader Mohammad Yousuf Falahi in Chitragam. Several other premises linked to JI and Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Kashmir (THK) organizations were also raided in Kulgam and Shopian districts.
Over the past four days, more than 400 cordon-and-search operations have been conducted across various areas of these districts, primarily targeting activists and sympathizers of pro-freedom organizations. These operations have resulted in the interrogation and detention of approximately 1,500 individuals, many of whom have reportedly been shifted to district and local jails under draconian laws.
