Authorities across Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) have imposed stringent restrictions following a blast near Delhi’s Red Fort, launching an extensive security drive marked by additional checkpoints, enhanced frisking, and strict vehicle inspections throughout the occupied territory.
According to Kashmir Media Service, from Srinagar to districts along the Line of Control (LoC) such as Rajouri and Kupwara, security forces have set up new checkpoints, intensified vehicle searches, and strengthened identity verification at major intersections, bus terminals, and entry points.
A senior police officer described the measures as “precautionary but necessary” for maintaining public safety. “Additional checkpoints, frisking of vehicles, and deployment of advanced scanners, handheld detectors, and explosive-trace devices are in place across Jammu and Kashmir to uphold law and order,” he stated.
In Srinagar, heavy deployments of police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel have been witnessed at Lal Chowk, Dalgate, Bemina, and Nowgam. Vehicles are being stopped randomly, with occupants asked to present identification documents.
Similar crackdowns have been reported in Pulwama, Shopian, and Islamabad (Anantnag) districts, where at least four individuals have been detained over suspected links to the so-called Faridabad terror module, believed to be associated with the Red Fort blast.
In north Kashmir, authorities have intensified frisking and patrolling in Sopore, Baramulla, Handwara, and Kupwara, while LoC areas are witnessing reinforced monitoring under the pretext of preventing infiltration.
At Srinagar International Airport, screening procedures have been tightened with enhanced passenger checks, manual baggage inspections, and the use of X-ray scanning. Security has also been ramped up at Jammu and Banihal railway stations, where frisking operations and explosive detection with canine units have been intensified.
Commuters have reported multiple layers of security checks before boarding trains, while authorities have issued public advisories urging cooperation with frisking operations, immediate reporting of unattended vehicles, and heightened vigilance amid ongoing restrictions.
