PESHAWAR: Mayor Peshawar Haji Zubair Ali has departed for Makkah to perform Umrah. He has appointed Chairman Neighborhood Council 23 Gulbahar, Imran Naveed, as the acting mayor for six days. A formal letter in this regard has been sent to the Minister for Local Government. According to details, Mayor Peshawar Haji Zubair Ali sent a letter to the Provincial Minister for Local Government through the Civil Secretariat, requesting leave from February 14 to February 19, 2025, for the pilgrimage. In the letter, he also designated Imran Naveed as the acting mayor of Peshawar in his absence. During this period, Chairman Imran Naveed will oversee the affairs of the City Metropolitan Government and ensure the smooth functioning of municipal operations. Speaking on the matter, Imran Naveed expressed his best wishes for Mayor Haji Zubair Ali’s pilgrimage and pledged to manage the city’s administrative affairs efficiently during his temporary tenure.
