PESHAWAR: Deputy Commissioner Mardan, Abdur Rehman here Wednesday chaired a meeting review arrangements being finalized for anti-polio campaign starting from Sep 29. The meeting was also attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner of Mardan and Takht Bhai, District Health Officer, Area Coordinator WHO, religious scholars and representatives of police and education department. The meeting was told that anti-polio campaign would start from Sep 9 in Katlang, Garhi Kapoora and Rustam and from Oct 2 in Tehsil Mardan and Takht Bhai. It was told that 1872 mobile teams, 95 fixed teams, 61 transit teams and 486 supervisory teams have been constituted to achieve targets of anti-polio campaign. It was said that foolproof security arrangements have been made to ensure safety of polio staff. Addressing the meeting, Deputy Commissioner urged ulema, teachers, media and local government representatives to support polio teams in the vaccination process.
